Jewelry Repair and Restoration Process
-
Initial Consultation and Assessment (Free)
- Overview: The client brings in or ships the jewelry piece for an initial inspection. Our expert jewelers assess the condition of the item and discuss the type of repair or restoration needed.
- Details: We examine the piece for any damage, worn prongs, loose stones, tarnishing, or broken parts, and advise on the best restoration approach. If the client is shipping the piece, we provide detailed instructions for safe shipping.
- Timeline: 15-30 minutes in person or 1-2 business days after receiving the item by mail.
-
Repair Proposal & Quote
- Overview: After a thorough evaluation, we present the client with a detailed repair or restoration proposal, including a cost estimate and timeline for completion.
- Details: The proposal includes information on the materials needed, any gemstone replacements, metal refinishing, or structural repairs required. Adjustments to the plan can be made if necessary.
- Timeline: 1-2 business days for in-house pieces; 2-3 days for mailed items.
-
Client Approval & Deposit (50% of Total Cost)
- Overview: Once the client approves the repair or restoration plan, a 50% deposit is required to begin the process.
- Details: We offer a clear breakdown of costs, which may include stone replacements, soldering, polishing, rhodium plating, or intricate restoration work. For more extensive restorations, we provide a timeline for updates throughout the process.
- Timeline: Client approval and deposit confirmation can be processed the same day.
-
Jewelry Repair and Restoration Work
- Overview: Our skilled jewelers meticulously carry out the approved repair or restoration work. This can range from simple chain repairs to complex stone resetting or antique restorations.
- Details: Throughout the repair process, we ensure that all materials are ethically sourced and that craftsmanship meets the highest standards. Any necessary adjustments will be communicated to the client before proceeding.
- Timeline: Standard repairs take 1-2 weeks; extensive restorations may take 3-4 weeks, depending on the complexity.
-
Quality Inspection & Polishing
- Overview: Once the repairs or restoration are completed, the piece undergoes a detailed quality inspection to ensure all work is flawless. We then provide a final cleaning and polishing to restore its original luster.
- Details: Each piece is inspected for structural integrity, gemstone security, and overall finish. We ensure the jewelry looks as good as new (or better, in the case of antique restorations).
- Timeline: 1-2 days for final inspection and polishing.
-
