Jewelry Care & Material Guide
Gold
Gold is durable yet sensitive to chemicals. Avoid exposure to chlorine, perfume, and cosmetics. Clean with mild soap and a soft cloth. Store separately to prevent surface scratches.
Sterling Silver
Silver tarnishes naturally. Store in an airtight pouch when not worn. Use a silver polishing cloth regularly, and avoid contact with humidity and household chemicals.
Platinum
Platinum is highly durable and naturally hypoallergenic. It may develop a soft patina over time. Clean with a soft toothbrush, soap, and water. Occasional professional polishing restores its original finish.
Palladium
Palladium resists tarnish and wear. Clean with warm water and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive tools. Store separately to maintain its polished look.
Gemstone & Diamond Care
Diamonds
Clean diamonds with warm water, mild soap, and a soft toothbrush. Though incredibly hard, they can still chip from impact. Store individually to prevent scratching other jewelry.
Sapphire & Ruby
Durable and excellent for everyday wear. Clean with warm water and a soft brush. Avoid harsh chemicals and extreme heat to maintain color and integrity.
Emerald
Emeralds are more fragile due to inclusions. Clean with a soft cloth and lukewarm water. Avoid ultrasonic cleaning and extreme temperature changes.
Opal & Pearl
These delicate gems are sensitive to moisture, cosmetics, and perfumes. Wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Never soak or use chemicals. Store in soft, breathable fabric pouches.
Topaz, Amethyst, Citrine
Clean with mild soap and water. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for extended periods, as color fading can occur. Keep away from hard surfaces to prevent chipping.
Garnet, Peridot, Tanzanite
These vibrant stones are softer and require gentle care. Avoid ultrasonic cleaning. Use lukewarm water and store away from harder gemstones.
Turquoise, Malachite, Lapis Lazuli
Porous and sensitive to oils and chemicals. Wipe gently with a dry cloth and avoid water, soap, or solvents. Best stored in soft cloth bags.
Zircon, Spinel, Moonstone
Clean with a soft brush and warm water. Avoid exposure to intense heat or pressure. These stones are moderately durable and best worn with care.
